NUJ Scotland is the Scottish section of the National Union of Journalists. Its primary purpose is to support and represent members individually and collectively in matters related to their work.
The Scotland offices organises professional and trade union training, and campaigns on issues affecting journalists. The project, ‘A Stronger Voice for Women in the Media’ (funded by the STUC and which concluded in Spring 2018), gave prominence to the online abuse of journalists and the gender imbalance in editorial roles. The NUJ are partners in the Tackling Gendered Equalities in Scottish News Project.
